Climate change as a global security issue – NOT!

By Tim Bloedow

How do you know when something has been embraced as a religion in society? One piece of evidence is it becomes all-pervasive. This is what happened in the past few decades with sex and then, more specifically, homosexuality. In school, it didn’t matter what class you were in, somehow your math teacher figure out how to fit some discussion about sex into your math class. And your physics class. And your history class. And your cooking class. Etc., Etc. Sex was deemed such an important aspect of life, and so much re-education was believed necessary in terms of people’s views about sex, that the propagandists figured out how to make the issue all-pervasive.

That is what has happened in recent years with environmentalism and specifically with “climate change.” So much so that adults are making complete fools of themselves by treating it as a “global security” issue. And a high level one at that. What a joke! Except the joke’s on us…

The lead story in the Spring issue of the Munk Monitor, published by the respected Munk School of Global Affairs, discusses this reality (“The New Global Security Agenda,” by Wesley Wark):

“The climate security threat, which requires a wrenching turn towards thinking about how climate change could impact on human security, is beginning to make a large impact on national security thinking, as indicated in the DNI’s threat assessment. But the leading Cassandra on this topic has been the United Kingdom, which boldly proclaimed climate change as the number one security threat in a 2008 national security paper. As we start to think about climate change more and more in security terms, we will also have to decide how to deploy state resources to measure and monitor the threat. No state, so far as I am aware, has yet reached the logical conclusion that climate change will become a top priority problem for 21st-century intelligence services.”

The only security threat related to environmentalism is the leftist terrorist groups that destroy private property and threaten people’s safety, as well as those socialist organizations that promote poverty by destroying wealth and private enterprise in impoverished nations.

Adults who advance this notion of climate change as a global security issue should be ashamed of themselves.

It’s just another example of the idolatry of humanism and the messianic state. When man rejects God, he puts another god of his own making into the vacuum because he has to worship something. And the worship of false gods is always full of magic and irrationality – such as believing that the resources of aggregate man, harnessed by the state, will be able to have an impact on climate change.
