One Seared Conscience Demands Another: Rod Taylor

The darkness hates the light; that’s all there is to it. “Those who do evil hate the light and do not come into the light for they fear their deeds will be reproved.” John3:20. Jesus explained this two thousand years ago and, of course, it’s as true now as it was then. Misery loves company and those who do not want to change their beliefs and practices want everyone else to change theirs. When noble men and women—still sensitive to God’s whisperings and the guidance of their own consciences—take a stand and refuse to participate in an evil act, the evildoers try to regulate, legislate, intimidate and coerce them into cooperation.

You would think that the bishops were condoning sexual abuse – or, God forbid, in this topsy-turvy moral age, maybe even cigarette smoking – so outraged are many amongst the Canadian left. In a letter last week from the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops, one line has stimulated the war against religion like no other: “Furthermore, we support (believers’) right to conscientious objection as a fundamental expression of the freedom of conscience and religion.”

Homosexual parenting fuels tyranny

“Court orders former B.C. lesbian couple to divide left-over sperm”

Perhaps the greatest fraud in the multi-decade campaign to normalize homosexual parenting and domestic relationships is the notion that this libertine ethic is consistent with the view that the state has no business in the bedrooms of the nation. This claim is false and dishonest in at least two ways, and despite the transparent dishonesty of these claims, social conservatives have, for some reason, been very muted in challenging activists on these points.

They are among eight couples – four heterosexual, four gay – taking their case to the courts, arguing the law is discriminatory.

Gay Couples Begin Attack on U.S. Marriage Law
By John Schwartz

Joanne Pedersen tried to add her spouse to her federal health insurance on Monday. She was rejected. Again. The problem is that while Ms. Pedersen is legally married to Ann Meitzen under Connecticut law, federal law does not recognize same-sex unions. So a health insurance matter that is all but automatic for most married people is not allowed for them under federal law.
