Our Closest Friend
By Jim Hnatiuk, Leader of the Christian Heritage Party
Sound political advice that is built with integrity is not only valuable; it’s also become a rare commodity. As my pastor put it again last Sunday, “Eyes that look are common, eyes that see are rare.” Especially in today’s culture, seeing the truth and speaking it will most often take courage and conviction. It also takes tact, patience, and an ability to endure criticism.

An Adequate Deterrent
By Jim Hnatiuk, Leader of the Christian Heritage Party
It’s difficult to imagine that any sane, or insane person for that matter, could systematically bomb, stalk, shoot and kill 93 people, most of which were teenagers at a summer camp. Then for the perpetrator to have the audacity to tell the court, “I wish to apologise to all militant nationalists that I wasn’t able to execute more.”

Christian Heritage Nonsense
By Jim Hnatiuk, Leader of the Christian Heritage Party
Have you ever experienced attempts to belittle you, either overtly or by a subtle roll of the eyes, because you choose to support the Christian Heritage Party of Canada? The Biggest Challenge
By Mike Schouten, CHP Candidate for South Surrey-White Rock-Cloverdale
After a recent speaking engagement, I was asked, “What is the biggest challenge you face in your riding?”
I only had time for a short answer: “The biggest challenge we face is convincing Christians to support an openly Christian politician working for an openly Christian political party.”

‘The Long Gun Debate: Democracy & Principle’
By Jim Hnatiuk, Leader of the Christian Heritage Party
In recent days we have seen members of the New Democratic Party and Liberal Party of Canada publicly announce they are switching their positions on the Bill to end the long gun registry. While they voted to scrap the registry on second reading, they will now vote to keep it by supporting an opposition amendment.

God’s Law or Total Statism
By Jim Hnatiuk, Leader of the Christian Heritage Party
“You can’t legislate morality,” is a sentiment commonly expressed in our pluralistic society. “I’m not bound by your rules; I have my own way of looking at things,” is the accepted belief.
Justin Trottier, national executive director of the Centre for Inquiry, had a column published in Monday’s Ottawa Citizen, arguing for the value of atheists being welcomed as participants in religious debates. ChristianGovernance submitted a column to the Ottawa Citizen in response to Mr. Trottier’s piece. We haven’t heard yet whether it’s been accepted for publication, so we are posting it ourselves.
