Our “Courageous Manhood” conference and dinner theatre – commemorating the sinking of the Titanic – are APPROACHING QUICKLY on Saturday, April 14th. Please purchase your tickets and reserve your spots todayto help us with our planning. Our caterer will soon be looking for final #’s for the dinner theatre.NEW ADDITION TO OUR CONFERENCE/DINNER. Members of a local family in Chesterville, the Allisons, perished on the Titanic. The parents and one child died, but the son survived. The father’s body was recovered and both father and son are buried in Chesterville. A local family has collected Titanic memorabilia in relation to this family as well as other Titanic items. Their popular collection will be on display at our conference and dinner theatre on April 14th.
ANOTHER LOCAL CONNECTION: More people are getting into the Titanic spirit. Did you know that Charles Melville Hays, the general manager of the Grand Trunk Railway, commissioned the building of the Chateau Laurier hotel? The hotel was going to be opened on April 26th, but due to the Titanic tragedy, the opening ceremony was delayed until June 1st.
More excitement over the Titanic’s 100th anniversary
More and more people are getting excited about the Titanic’s 100th anniversary.
Canada Post is selling memorabilia: stamps, First Day Covers, coins and art prints.
The Ottawa Sun has just reported on commemoration events taking place on the East Coast, in Newfoundland and Nova Scotia.
History magazine, in their latest issue, is one of many publications raising awareness about this upcoming anniversary. They published a special feature story: “The Titanic Disaster: First-Hand Reports from Four Newspaper Reporters.”

April 14th is the anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic.
As the Titanic started going down, the call went out, “Women and Children First.” Men stood aside so that women and children could enter the lifeboats and be saved. That sacrifice illustrates the spirit of Biblical manhood that is needed again in our culture.
