Our Closest Friend
By Jim Hnatiuk, Leader of the Christian Heritage Party
Sound political advice that is built with integrity is not only valuable; it’s also become a rare commodity. As my pastor put it again last Sunday, “Eyes that look are common, eyes that see are rare.” Especially in today’s culture, seeing the truth and speaking it will most often take courage and conviction. It also takes tact, patience, and an ability to endure criticism.

Christian governance includes self-government, family government, church government and civil government.
Where people are governed by more than one level of civil government, Christian civil governance gives deference to the lowest level of government, that is, the level of government closest to the people being served. A Christian worldview advances the ideas of localism and decentralization.
Many people – including Christians – get scared when they hear the term “Christian government.” I hope to dispel the myths and stereotypes and scary things people imagine when they hear the term “Christian government.”
