Petition To The Government of Alberta For The Prohibition of Sharia And The Moratorium On Visibly Islamic Structures
To: Government of Alberta
Whereas the founding peoples of the Province of Alberta, as recognised within the Canadian Confederation, brought to this land the Christian heritage upon which it now rests,
Whereas the now global threat of Islam endangers the rule founded by these people,
Whereas those supporters of Sharia law seek to undermine, overrule, and ultimately overthrow the laws established by the people of Alberta, and those in the Constitution of Canada,
Whereas the biggest city in our province, Calgary, now bears the distinction of having the biggest mosque in North America, the Baitunnur Mosque,
And whereas the Canadian Charter of Rights And Freedoms makes intended reference to the Judeo-Christian God in its preamble,
We, the undersigned residents of the Province of Alberta, cordially request the Government of Alberta to enact one or both the following:
1 – Legislation that prohibits Sharia law (Islamic law) from superceding the laws created by the Government of Alberta, and within that same legislation, a clause that prohibits the future creation of any Sharia-oriented legislation, thus keeping the laws of Alberta immune to Sharia entirely
2 – An indefinite moratorium on the construction of structures which are visibly Islamic in nature, the most noteworthy example of such being the Baitunnur Mosque.
We trust that the Government of Alberta will understand that what we ask of them in this petition will be of great benefit to all Albertans, as well as those who are within Alberta’s borders.
