Fighting passenger pornography on airlines
From ChristianGovernance eletter, Sept. 11, 2012
How wicked is our society? How bankrupt is the ethical framework? Violent, degrading filth is considered legitimate public expression regardless of how its use impacts others. What was that about your freedom ending where mine begins? That’s been the high-minded rhetoric of the libertines who have promoted the degradation of society. But it was all a bluff. Yet so many ordinary folk believed it. They didn’t want to exercise the responsibility of wise judgment. Now you have to complain and fight to protect yourself from such perversion in public places, even in closed, limited mobility public places as an airplane. “If you don’t like it, turn it off.” Yeah, right! But that’s the mantra of the Wolf Pack that’s invaded our communities and is prowling our streets. Below is the text of an email received from Morality in Media.

Action Alert in Fight Against Porn
Man arrested for viewing porn and touching self on plane. SIGN PETITION!
Many of our supporters recall when our Executive Director, Dawn Hawkins was on a flight back in February and the man in front of her was watching violent pornography. The flight attendant did nothing and a woman told Dawn to be quiet. We faced a lot of backlash as a result of Dawn’s YouTube video about the incident (hundreds of threatening emails, calls, letters and even Dawn’s family was a harassed by the pro-porn bullies.) Good things happened too, including many airlines who are now open to improving their policies and a lot of press about the harms of pornography (Fox News, front page of NY Times, etc).
But, it has happened again. Ironically, it’s another flight out of BWI in Baltimore. A man was arrested for viewing pornography on the plane’s wi-fi network and touching himself in full view of other passengers. We are contacting Southwest regarding putting anti-porn filters on the Internet they provide in-flight. We will tell you in a later email what repines we get from Southwest.
SIGN OUR PETITION TO US COMMERCIAL AIRLINES FOR PORN FREE PLANES!
SIGN HERE AND THEN GET 5 FRIENDS TO SIGN IT TOO!
We have already started efforts with most of the airlines and many (all but American) seem very open to improving their policies regarding pornography in-flight. We need another surge of support from people like you to make sure this problem is solved before many others (especially kids) are forced to endure flights while their seat buddy watches porn! Sign the petition and help spread the news. This is a battle that can EASILY be won before it gets too out of hand.

P.S. Here’s the account of Dawn’s encounter on the airplane. The public, tight, confined space of an airplane is NO PLACE for pornography, especially violent, pseudo-child pornography.
