Maybe 6 Commandments is enough!?

Maybe 6 Commandments is enough!?
There’s another “10 Commandments” battle in the U.S. This time the judge made a very interesting comment, suggesting that those wanting to display the Commandments should just push to post the last six because they’re supposedly not religious in nature, whereas the first four are.
How many modern Christians would be OK with that compromise? Probably a great meany considering the belief in neutrality that exists today; considering some pluralistic ideas that are floating around as well as the comments by people as notable as Focus on the Family head Jim Daly. Mr. Daly said that voting Christians should be concerned only about ethics, not religion – in other words, it’s OK to vote for Mormon Romney as President.
Mr. Daly and this judge hold to a false dichotomy. They are only interested in the law of God, not the lordship of Christ, in the public square – as though you can truly have one without the other. Of course you can’t, and that’s why Christians in America who have no interest in the lordship of Christ in the political realm now have a President who declares his support for homosexual “marriage.”
There is no moral neutrality. There is no religious neutrality. All 10 of the 10 Commandments are religious. All 10 of them are Christian. Humanists who are OK with the last six simply want to steal from Christianity in order to make their philosophy look civilized. And Christians who are OK with such compromise seem to be saying that they don’t mind heathens stealing from the truth to give their own worldviews a veneer of civility and credibility. These Christians are shooting themselves in the foot because they are thus making it harder for themselves to make headway in the culture. These Christians make it easier to be marginalized because Humanists can then say that society can be good without God, so we’ll run a godless, rational, secular society while you irrational faith-based weirdos practise your religion within the four walls of your church. But don’t you dare bring your religion to bear on our country’s public policy.
Very few Christians today understand the concept of worldview, even while the term is being used more often. If we understood worldview and were cultivating a rational, self-consistent Biblical worldview, we wouldn’t get into these marginalizing, self-defeating situations. We might get mocked and harassed and ridiculed for a while, but if we persevere, we will see victory. We can either rebuild foundations for our children and their children to achieve victory or we can make life more difficult for them by continuing down a culturally suicidal path. Hopefully Christians won’t compromise with the “6 Commandment” judge in this current case.
