Social worker on hunt for porn stars, trial hears: Teenage boys asked to film sexual acts with underage girlfriends: Crown
By Alexandra Zabjek
A former Alberta social worker facing child pornography charges asked his young clients to film themselves having sex, at times with underage girlfriends, a Crown prosecutor told Court of Queen’s Bench on Monday. Jason Andrew Keough, 36, faces two counts of making child pornography, two counts of possessing child pornography, one count of voyeurism, one count of making voyeuristic material, and one count of sexually touching a youth. The alleged incidents are said to have occurred between 2005 and 2008, when Keough was a child protection worker for Alberta Children and Youth Services in Athabasca.
Keough pleaded not guilty to all charges.
On the opening day of the trial, Crown prosecutor Diane Hollinshead alleged Keough approached teenage boys with the idea of paying them to film themselves doing sexual acts. In some cases that led to the youths being encouraged to film sexual encounters with underage girlfriends, Hollinshead said. “Mr. Keough was approaching boys and asking them if they want to be porn stars,” she said.
Const. Tom Meloche testified he executed a search warrant at Keough’s Athabasca home in September 2008 after receiving a tip about questionable videos. Police seized several video tapes, including one that showed several couples having sex and one of a teenage boy masturbating in the shower. Court of Queen’s Bench Justice Donald Manderscheid is to determine whether the second video may be accepted as evidence.
