Canada now has a Classical, Christian, Reformed school for future leaders

May 11, 2010

Received via email…

Brothers and sisters:

Grace Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in Woodstock Ontario has been working with educators from several provinces in developing a ministry that would provide a post-secondary experience for high school graduates that would be decidedly different from anything else offered in our country. We wanted it to be Classical, Christian, Reformed and to help students develop academic, cultural, and spiritual gifts before they head out into the work force, go off to university or college, or establish their own homes. We were tired of hearing from parents that they were sending their children off to the US to obtain the kind of education they could not find here.

Gillespie Academy is ready to begin its first year in September. This year will be an experimental one in some sense. Gillespie is looking for a few students (6 to 10) who are willing to work hard, learn together, and help faculty evaluate the overall effectiveness of what they are trying to accomplish. This is a perfect job opportunity for home schoolers, or those considering doing an extra year of highschool, to get outside the box with their learning.

For more information go to:  www.gillespieacademy.ca

Please feel free to pass this on to anyone who may be interested.

Yours in Christ,
Jeff Kingswood

“Vox Populi, Vox Dei”
By Gary DeMar

“I don’t know what you mean by ‘glory,’“ Alice said.

Humpty Dumpty smiled contemptuously. “Of course you don’t – till I tell you … When I use a word, it means just what I choose it to mean – neither more nor less.”

Ugandan believer calls Christians back to worldview religion

May 10, 2010

Following is part of the testimony of Otim John Bosco from the Spring 2010 Worldwide Christian Schools newsletter. Mr. Bosco was born in Northern Uganda, 30 km south of Gulu – an area known as the epicentre of the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA). His family was thrust into poverty early in his life when nomadic cattle herders ruthlessly stole their cattle, and he had been taken by the LRA to become a child soldier in their army.
