Pastor and his wife assaulted by mob in Sri Lanka
(Source: World Evangelical Alliance)
A pastor and his wife were attacked in Deniyaya, Sri Lanka, while returning home after visiting a church member. A large mob of around 40 men, accompanied by five Buddhist monks and the assistant secretary of the local government authority, approached the pastor and his wife shouting, “attack them,” “kill them.” The pastor was then assaulted and accused of spreading Christianity in the area.

Received via email…
Yesterday afternoon (September 6), Pastor Joshua (Kulendran Mayandy) passed away. We mourn his death, yet his death was not in vain.
The death of Joshua Mayandy represents a wake up call for everyone who believes in the equality and dignity of all human life.
We first reported on this story here.
Received via email Sept. 3 from the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition…
A week ago, the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition was successful in helping the friends of Joshua (Kulendran Mayandy) gain permission to have Joshua orally fed. Joshua was then able to feed orally without complications, but any other form of feeding (IV or otherwise) continued to be denied. We helped by organizing legal and medical support and a media response to his case throughout North America.

“Welcome to Canada”
By Harold J. Ludwig, BC President of CHP Canada
Last week another (yes, there was an earlier one last year) boatload of “refugees” arrived from Sri Lanka on the west coast of Canada. They were escorted to shore by a flotilla of Canadian vessels to ensure that their entry went smoothly. Once the ship was securely tied up on Canadian shores, authorities began the process of dealing with this latest group of people arriving in such dramatic fashion.

OTTAWA – The arrival of a shipload of Tamil migrants off Canada’s west coast intending to claim refugee status exposes how little progress the Conservative government has made in fixing this country’s badly broken refugee system since coming to office in 2006.
