The Power of Giving a Book
By Joel McDurmon
It all started with one book. When Bojidar’s missionary pastor left his Bulgarian town, all he left behind was a couple audio tapes and a copy of one book, Ken Gentry’s He Shall Have Dominion. Ken’s book is still, perhaps, the best one-stop exposition of the postmillennial, optimistic, dominion-oriented biblical worldview available. It has changed many lives, including Bojidar’s. After this, he wanted to hear more about optimism and biblical law.
“A dog barks when his master is attacked. I would be a coward if I saw that God’s truth is attacked and yet would remain silent.” -John Calvin. h/t Christian Heritage Reformed Presbyterian Church
In his Commentary on Genesis 1:26 to 9:10, Calvin adds: “… God, making His covenant with the sons of Noah, commands them to hope for the best…. It was not therefore a private covenant confirmed with one family only, but one which is common to all people and which shall flourish in all ages to the end of the world (Psalm 8:3-8)…. God…makes a covenant with Noah and his family…. He transmits His covenant to posterity…, so that as by continual succession the effect may reach to other ages…. God promises salvation to a thousand generations” – for 1000 times one generation to the next, meaning 20000 years!…”
