This week has been quite a week for the advancement of Canada’s evil human rights regime. We have seen numerous decisions from human rights commissions around the country, some of which are particularly destructive of liberty and justice.

I don’t always get excited about science, but my ears always perk up when I hear anything about the hormesis theory. OK, the hormesis theory is not part of everyone’s breakfast conversation. But it was a contrarian theory that I embraced over 15 years ago as I looked at the research-based evidence and theories on the impact of radiation and chemicals on people. And it was an area where I believe I benefited in my views because of my understanding of the principles of the Biblical worldview.

I want to provide some commentary on a lengthy recent article on public education by Iain Benson and a response by atheist Saint Mary’s University professor Mark Mercer, but a letter, “Cannot be ‘taught’,” published today in The Ottawa Citizen in relation to Mr. Benson’s article deserves to be highlighted even without completion of a primary response. Ottawa citizen, Dave Toms, seems to be writing as an atheist. He begins, “Iain T. Benson’s sophistry in trying to benefit religion by equating secularity to atheism should fool no one.”

Pastor bashing didn’t buy peace
By David B. Harris
What do Stephen Harper, Barack Obama, Gen. David Petraeus, Canadian Defence Minister Peter MacKay and U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have in common? They each need to get a grip on themselves the next time they want to whack a wacky pastor. Each sacrificed valuable resources to condemn and plead with once-aspiring Koran-griller, Florida Pastor Terry Jones, a bizarre fourth-string in the evangelical band. Congregation size: 50, on an inflationary day.
ABORTION AND HOW NOT TO INFLUENCE GOVERNMENT
By Garnett Genuis, for NuzCanada

A “Howse” Built on Prophetic Sand
By Gary DeMar
You’re thinking that I misspelled “house.” I didn’t. The reference is to Brannon Howse who heads up Worldview Weekend. A better designation would be “World-Ending Weekend” since so many of his speakers and article topics push an end-of-the-world eschatology.

The Selfishness of the Intentionally Childless
By Tom Trinko
While liberals are constantly talking about government “investments,” they neglect and even denigrate the single biggest investment of the American
people: our children. According to the government, it takes roughly $222,000 to raise a child to age 17, and if you include college costs, this number can go up a lot.
