Smart phones do many things these days: surf the Internet, send e-mail, take photos and video (and – oh, yes – send and receive calls). But one thing they can do that phone companies don’t advertise is spy on you. As long as you don’t leave home without your phone, that handy gadget keeps a record of everywhere you go – a record the government can then get from your telephone company.

Bipartisan Group Urges Justice Dept. to Employ Prison Rape Standards

Leaders from across the religious, political, and human rights spectrum came together today to petition U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder to swiftly enforce rape elimination standards throughout the nation’s prison system. Thirty-five organizations – including Focus on the Family, the NAACP, the American Civil Liberties Union, the Family Research Council, the Open Society Policy Center and the Southern Baptist Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission – joined Prison Fellowship in highlighting the urgent need to stop widespread sexual abuse in prisons.
