Will Manitobans surrender their children to the surrogacy of the state and accept this new level of servitude on behalf of their children? Do Manitobans hate God enough to embrace this idolatry and misguided spirit of indolence as their legacy? Or do Manitobans still love God enough to resist this assault on the messianic rule of Christ and the role of parents in administering this rule in the jurisdiction of the family?

Manitoba raises minimum age to drop out of school to 18 from 16
Winnipeg Free Press
Manitoba teenagers will now have to stay in school until they are 18. The age change, announced on Thursday by the provincial government, is designed to improve high school graduation rates. Any student graduating high school before turning 18 would not be compelled to continue her or his education. Until now, it was legal for Manitoba students to leave school at 16. Education Minister Nancy Allan said legislation will be introduced as soon as possible and could be in place for next fall’s school year. She said the intent is to raise Manitoba’s high school graduation rate from 80.9% to 100%. Ms. Allan said the government has yet to finalize what penalties will be imposed on parents if their child leaves school between 16 and 18 years of age.
