ChristianGovernance upcoming events
ChristianGovernance has two very important upcoming events in the new year. We have already sent out a press release about our “Titanic 2011-Women and Children First” banquet. Ticket will go on sale soon once we have secured our venue. We are very excited to be bringing Kevin Swanson to Ottawa as our feature speaker on Biblical manhood and Biblical womanhood, and we are thrilled to be able to welcome concert pianist Calvin Jones to our event as well.
This banquet is an important fundraising event for ChristianGovernance, and you will have an amazing time there: Great food, fantastic entertainment and a powerful speaker – and all this in the company of like-minded, fired-up Christians who want to be part of the next move of God in reforming our great nation.
Stay tuned for more details about “Titanic 2011-Women and Children First.”
WAY camp
We have also made good progress in organizing our first Biblical worldview youth camp for Eastern Ontario/Western Quebec. This Biblical worldview youth camp is called a “WAY camp.” WAY camp stands for Worldview Apologetics Youth camp. And we know from Acts that, in the early days, Christians were known as the people of the Way.
Our WAY camp is for youth aged 15-19. The maximum capacity for the camp is 40 youth. We have reserved the Temple Pastures Retreat Centre in Gatineau, Quebec, just 20 minutes north-east of Ottawa (286 Fogarty Road, Gatineau, QC J8R 3L4). The dates for the camp are Monday-Friday, July 18th-22nd.
We have already secured several speakers for the camp, and we are completing our roster before making a full announcement.
This is a very important ministry for training and preparing Christian youth to live lives of focused service to God in this world. Upwards of 80% of youth leave the church in their late teens and early 20s. They don’t have an intellectually credible foundation for their faith, and they lack the confidence to assert their faith in the face of hostility. The Biblical Worldview training, the Apologetics and the Leadership principles we provide at the WAY camp can go a long way to strengthening your teen’s faith, building her confidence and giving him the tools to stand firm.
If you live anywhere close to Eastern Ontario/Western Quebec, and you have a young man or young woman in your home who might benefit from this WAY camp, pencil in these dates – July 18th-22nd – and stay tuned for more details.
