Should the term “child pornography” in the Criminal Code be changed to “child sex abuse materials”? While there may be laudable principles for considering to do so, it would be a legal gamble – with children at risk – to amend the law. This gamble could very likely provide child abusers with a new legal defence when faced with charges related to child pornography. I happened to stop in at our local newspaper the other day to pay a subscription bill and I asked the acting editor why she hadn’t printed my last letter to the editor in the paper about the differences between liberals and conservatives. She suggested it was a ‘little over the top’ because I said that liberal women had to much testosterone and the men were girlie/men. She said that some of the letter was offensive. Read more...
