Older people can be as foolish as youngsters. The number of naive older Americans is amazing. That the AARP has more than three members, especially after their love-affair with the socialist fanaticism of Obamacare is astounding. But it shows that, without Christ, most people will turn to a messianic state in pursuit of security.

Eyewitness to radicalization

Working as a consultant in a GOP U.S. Senate primary race for the past nine months gave me a good look at the internal workings of the Republican Party. And speaking as a conservative, I didn’t like what I saw.
A National Post article today – “Let the rich pay to jump health-care queue: MD” – reports on a recommendation from incoming president of the Calgary and Area Physician’s Association, Dr. Lloyd Maybaum, to allow wealthy Albertans to pay for their own health care, though at above-market prices.
Yesterday was one of those days when I listened to someone – in this case, a respected theologically conservative seminary professor – lament what he called the fear-mongering among conservatives about Obama and the left. And he sounds so reasonable in his warning. Then today I read an article from yesterday’s Financial Post, titled Barack Obama’s top 10 job killers, and I’m reminded through a rationale summary of economic issues just how illiterate, extreme and dangerous Obama and his fellow travellers are. There are right ways and wrong ways to be afraid, so some scare-mongering on the right is probably not helpful. I’m not anticipating the end of history, for example. But there is much to fear, as long as that fear mobilizes you to action rather than paralyzing you.

Health Care Bill May Spike College Costs
CollegePlus! staff have been sifting through the details of the student loan program that was stuffed into the health care bill, and we’ve made some alarming discoveries which could lead to costly consequences for college students. Democrats in the House attached a student loan program to the health care reform bill which will vastly expand the amount of money taken from taxpayers to subsidize government-run student lending programs, thus creating a bureaucratic government lending network, squeezing out more efficient private-sector programs for college students.
