Canada’s drainage ditches no longer held hostage by Environmentalism

Published on May 3, 2012 By SiteEditor

Gaia-Environmentalism has become a very pervasive political religion in recent years. Thankfully Canada’s national government seems to be committed to walking away from this immature superstition, replacing it with a scientifically rational approach to government policy. A recent case in point is something as straight-forward as fisheries legislation. Following is a press release from the government, announcing changes to fisheries policy. If you’re a rural Canadian, or anybody else who takes private property rights and science seriously, you should appreciate the following announcement.

Lawyers acknowledge extremist nature of McGuinty’s state-ist eco-energy agenda

Published on November 26, 2010 By SiteEditor

Unfortunately, instead of condemning it, they express an apparent enthusiasm for this state-ist, eco-religious economic boondoggle that has been thoroughly condemned in the pages of the Post and elsewhere for sound economic and scientific rationale.

Environmentalism as Religion
By Joel Garreau

Traditional religion is having a tough time in parts of the world. Majorities in most European countries have told Gallup pollsters in the last few years that religion does not “occupy an important place” in their lives. Across Europe, Judeo-Christian church attendance is down, as is adherence to religious prohibitions such as those against out-of-wedlock births. And while Americans remain, on average, much more devout than Europeans, there are demographic and regional pockets in this country that resemble Europe in their religious beliefs and practices.

Editorial: McGuinty’s hydro bait-and-switch

Ontario’s economic update is in – and the provincial Liberals’ desperation level clearly is up. In advance of the update, provincial Finance Minister Dwight Duncan already had leaked the Liberals’ plan to cut Hydro bills by 10% for five years by using $1-billion in borrowed money. That populist sop would be ill-advised under any circumstances, but especially so given Ontario’s projected 2010 deficit of $18.7-billion.

Ontario to bribe its power-shocked voters
By Terence Corcoran

This cannot be true. News reports say the Ontario government is going to bring in a new Clean Air Benefit, a payment to electricity consumers to help reduce their soaring electricity bills. In an economic statement Thursday, Finance Minister Dwight Duncan is apparently going to announce the Clean Air Benefit as a bold response to the growing realization across the province that Ontario’s electricity sector is a fiscal runaway train.

Green Invasion of Christian Churches

Some worried and concerned parents try to find comfort that their children are at least safe in their church Sunday school, where they will at least learn the proper attitudes, values and beliefs from a solid Christian view. They are about to be shocked out of that comfort zone.
